BOYSEN® Clear Gloss Lacquer #1250 is a nitrocellulose, solvent-based, high gloss lacquer varnish finish that dries to a hard durable film.
PRINCIPAL USES: For interior sealed wood such as furnitures, fixtures, cabinets, doors and panels.
PRACTICAL COVERAGE: 25-30 square meter / 4 liters / coat
SURFACE DRY: 10 minutes
DRY THROUGH: 1 hour
DRY FILM THICKNESS: 1.5 mils / coat
OVERCOATING INTERVAL: Recoat after 30 minutes
APPLICATION: by brush or spray
THINNING: BOYSEN® Lacquer Thinner #50
PAINTING SCHEDULE:
New wood surfaces:
Stain (optional): Boysen Oil Wood Stain
Sealer Coat: BOYSEN® Lacquer Sanding Sealer #1254, sanded lightly before topcoat application
Final coat: BOYSEN® Clear Gloss Lacquer #1250
Repainting:
Old finish in bad condition should be stripped. BOYSEN® Paint and Varnish Remover #141 can be used to totally remove the finish.
If old lacquer finish is in good condition, sand surface. Make sure to clean and dry before coating BOYSEN® Clear Gloss Lacquer #1250.
(Note: 10% by volume of BOYSEN® Lacquer Flo is added to the varnish mixture just before application to prevent moisture blushing)
